Bruno Besa | Garnet to pink. Open, earthy, a touch of farmyard on the nose, with nuts, smoke, prunes, and oriental spices. Medium to full body, fairly complex, layered red fruit, clean finish. | 92
Stephen Brook | Reticent but pure raspberry nose, lifted and beguiling. Sleek attack, concentrated and firm, without seeming extracted. The tannins are exceptionally fine-grained and carry the fruit well. A model of restraint, but all the components seem in place. Balanced and very long. | 93
Andrew Jefford | Clear light red. Lots of roasty ripe fruit here; earthy, sweet, and deep behind, with some felty vegetal complexities. Just a hint of green, but it works very well here, freshening and layering the aromatic profile. Vivid, fresh, grippy palate; plenty of ripe fruit. This is an attractive and well-constituted wine that takes the ripe profile of the year and expresses it in a compelling and generous manner. It’s mid-weight yet long and may well acquire further aromatic refinement with bottle age. Impressive—and hugely enjoyable, too. A long way to go. | 95
