Simon Field: Peremptory in colour, serious of nose and dense en bouche, this is a seriously concentrated wine, with raw tannins, edgy acidity and incredible power. Slightly angular at the moment, this wine has the structural potential to reward patience, above and beyond the dictates of a very hot summer. 17.5
Richard Mayson: Smells quite attractive - a touch floral. Good fleshy fruit and firm tannins, but with something rather green and edgy on the finish. 14.5
Jancis Robinson: Very dark purplish crimson. Low-key, quite savoury nose. Rather sophisticated and mellow on the nose - surprisingly so for a Vintage Port at this stage of its life. Not the sweetest or most intense. Very dry finish. But very confident. Lots of tannin! Neat and introvert but convincing. 17
