BUY THE WINE

Simon Field: Deep crimson colouring; a high-toned nose with roses scattered over the forest floor. On the palate, youthful and assertive tannins, densely brooding fruit and a weight of alcohol. Medium intensity on the finish. It can be difficult to assess the mind’s construction from the face sometimes. 15

Richard Mayson: Not giving much away on the nose. Ripe, sweet, spicy fruit in the mouth, with rather lean one-dimensional tannins on the finish. 12.5

Jancis Robinson: Very dark crimson. Stickily sweet, but with some tea leaf on the nose. A member of the Nacional/Dow ’s / Quinta do Crasto gang, but with much more obvious acidity. Lacks real core to draw it all together. Awkward. 13
