Simon Field: Brick-red notes with a luminous core; notes of peat and green tea add to the interest. Palate relatively lean; sinuous and linear, it may have more to give but at the moment is good to good plus only. 15.5
Richard Mayson: Brick-red center, amber-tawny rim. Quite forceful on the nose for a 20-year-old, full and lacking a certain amount of delicacy to score highly, rather austere tannic finish—not what I expect from 20-year-old. 12
Margaret Rand: Powerful, punchy wine with flavors of coffee and roasted nuts with their skins on. Not coarse exactly, but not subtle. Becomes a little fatiguing, like someone who hogs the conversation. 16.5
