Jesús Barquín:Intense brown-amber, slightly cloudy. On the nose, spicy and finely nutty are the first impressions, then a touch of tar and the expectation of a not-so-sweet wine. But it is sweet indeed, actually a bit more than one would desire, since the sugar rather clouds it. Apart from that, on the palate the wine is complex and develops in layers, with a beautiful finish. 92
Andrew Jefford:Bright, deep, clear red-brown in color. Refined, herbal aromas: thyme, lavender, rue. Some lack of aromatic wealth compared to the other leading 30 Year Olds. Deep, rich, searching, almost dry at the finish, the resolution of age amply apparent. It’s concentrated, deep, rounded, and full-bodied, but also slightly soft-focus compared to the best of its 30 Year Old peers. 87
Richard Mayson:Brick red to amber tawny all the way through; fine, lifted, and nicely melded on the nose, with soft, sweet creamy fruit, vanilla and spice and a soft, sweet creamy finish, without verging on unctuous. Well balanced. 89
