Margaret Rand: Roasted, spicy and rather ungiving at the moment; dense and tight. The finish is excellent: all richness and complexity. 18.5
Michael Schuster: Dense, ripe-fruited and pebbly nose. Fairly full, firm, rich wine, fresh in acidity, firmly tannic – excellent long-term balance. Long, graceful, fine-textured St-Julien, freshly ripe, complex, aromatic. A fine second wine and a very refined example of Clos du Marquis – classier than its 2003. 15.5/16
