Nicolas Belfrage: Unusually light colour with hints of orange on the rim - nothing w rong with that. Quiet but attractive, with a clean aroma of cherry tart. A different style from all the others - more traditional - but very well made of the sort: soft and scented, with good acid. It goes down well. 15.5

Stephen Brook: Fairly deep red. Light, sm oky nose. M edium -bodied, supple and juicy. S traightforw ard and pleasant enough, but lacks weight and structure. Medium length. 14

Alison Buchanan: Lovely black-ruby colour of Venetian-glass brilliance. I’m looking at the colour as a relief from modernism, but this is quite volatile on the nose and a wee bit grubby. A rather unattractive, old-fashioned style, and mercifully short. 11
