Nicolas Belfrage: Deepish with beginnings of turn on rim. Some oak on nose, fruit too. Surprizingly harsh and sour on palate, certainly genuine but lacks charm now. Could last a long time though, and has all the fruit concentration and elegance required. Drink from 2018–2030. Have a feeling that this could be outstanding though uncompromisingly aggressive at the moment. 19

Roy Richards A lot of oak here, less apparent on the palate where the acidity is high and potential is evident. Benefit of the doubt. 17

Franco Ziliani: Wonderful, brilliant light-ruby color very typical of a Sangiovese from Montalcino. The nose is of great elegance and complexity: fresh, luscious cherry and cassis fruit, aromatic herbs, some leather and mineral notes, black pepper that form a bouquet of great charm and finesse, with the flowery freshness of a great Sangiovese. Still very young on the palate, but with a marvelous structure, bold but round and soft tannins, great balance and control of all the aspects of a winewhose finish is very long and persistent, absolutely appealing, with great savor and the finesse of a great wine. Still very young, but with a great ageing potential and the absolute character of a great Montalcino’s Sangiovese wine: Chapeau! 19
