BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage: Medium depth, bright. Classic nose of sage and thyme. Bright acidity to match the brilliance of fruit—cherry and unripe plum—with tannins firm but ripe. Beautifully balanced and long, with no negative surprises. Has the subtlety and penetration of classic Brunello. 18

Bruno Besa: Garnet to orange, pink rim. Intense, elegant, spicy, small red-fruit nose, with cedar wood, cranberries, and hints of flint-like minerality. Medium body, with an inviting palate of minerals and small red fruits. Long and refined. 17.5

Andrew Jefford: Relatively pale in the context of the flight. Aromatically, this is soft, gentle, open, understated, with gentle strawberry and cherry fruit. On the palate, the wine is soft, open, gentle, a little exhausted already; precocious! Don’t wait a moment longer, but the ripeness of the vintage is on attractive display. 12.5
