BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage: Medium color, bright, with some evolution to the core. Clean, floral-spicy nose. Elegant, not big, but expressive wine that expands in mouth, revealing cherry and blackberry fruit of good breadth and length. Long in the mouth. Perhaps a bit fierce in the acid department, but it should keep well and will drink soonish. From 2016. 89

Bruno Besa: Garnet to tawny rim. A touch animal and funky on the nose, with ripe prune fruit. Getting better and cleaner in the glass. A layered palate with intense fruit and classic tannins A very interesting wine that probably needed a bit more clean winemaking. 88

Andrew Jefford: Clear, translucent garnet red. Dry, elegant, refined scents of roasted fruits, warm forests, and summer breezes; a touch of reduction. Smooth, dry, sustained, and long; accessible now, but with enough concentration to carry it forward for the best part of a decade. A little more sinewy, perhaps, than the best of its peers, but a thoroughly recommendable wine nonetheless. 84
