BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage: A slight turn on the rim, with good depth. Nose of medium impact - tea leaves. Fresh, clean fruit of good Sangiovese character, sour cherry and tea leaf. The maker succeeds with authenticity, a bit less with charm. There is a certain sharpness on the finish. 14

Stephen Brook: Deep red. Lush, oaky nose of plums and cloves. Medium-bodied, rounded and supple, but it lacks some grip. A slightly raw acidity kicks in, with a slight greenness on the medium-length finish. 14

Alison Buchanan: Oh, for goodness' sake! Pastry shop plus! Sweet brioche, caramel, coffee. Very sweet palate of cherry chews. Confected, and not my style. 11.5
