Andrew Jefford: Mid-depth of gold. Fresh, full, bready. Lots of sweet grape fruits, with a kind of intercellular richness; elegant, diverting and aromatically gracious. Again there is a remarkably precise floral note here, though this time it is freesias... Deep, pushy, powerful, lots of vivid fruit acidity and some minerality to finish. Gratifying presence and fruit intensity. Aftertaste perfumed with fruit essence. Lovely finishing textures. Excellent, masterful, strong German wine. Perhaps slightly too obvious and masterful, though, for a really high score. 15.5
Simon Larkin : Deep in appearance, offering overblown, simplistic tropical fruit on the nose. Peachy on the palate, with an absence of purity and a disjointed acidity. Almost shrill on the finish. Little to garner favour. 11
Alexander Scott: Not dissimilar to Dr Burklin-Wolf’s Jesuitengarten, but the palate is looser. A gentle wine, attractive, but not destined for greatness. I can, however, imagine enjoying its richness enormously with roast pork Dijonnaise. 14.5
