Simon Field: Near opaque in colour, with a foursquare nose of house perfumes and evocative leathers. Dense, precocious, tannic and powerful, a wine with impressive weight, but will it have the lightness of touch to appease the palate in the years to come? 15.5
Andrew Jefford: Deep, red-black, youthful, lots of glycerol. Already real aromatic refinement here, with an enchanting perfumed blackcurrant style. A sense of much more to give yet... a massive attack of vigorous, deep, fiery berry fruits. Rich, tannin-saturated, multidimensioned, with magnificent integration of tannins and fruits, this is a colossally impressive wine. The really impressive thing is that you cannot get away from the enchantment of the fruit at this stage, yet you know that underneath there is all the extract and power to endure and endure and endure... Virtuoso stuff. 19.5
Richard Mayson: Deep centre, thin purple rim. Closed, but quite extractive on the nose. Dusty tannins. Very opulent on the palate. Big and bold, tannic fruit, very impressive. An angular finish. 16.5
