Nicolas Belfrage: Strikingly deep, almost opaque. Oak quite prominent on nose, a little drainsy. Concentrated yet loose-knit with acidity on low side and almost an excess of sweet fruit. May improve with time but needs forgetting about for at least three years. 13
Roy Richards Distinguished. Second nose is summer pudding. This is very youthful and unevolved, as it should be with these prominent Brunello tannins. Serious, if not yet joyful. 16
Franco Ziliani: Splendid, intense, brilliant ruby violet color. The nose is very rich, complex, intense, with perfectly ripe and luscious cherry fruit, some plum, licorice, tobacco and chocolate, black pepper and mint, a hint of the aromatic herbs that so strongly recall Tuscany. Round, supple, soft but very present tannins, a great expression of fruit, with energy, development, many dimensions, and a fresh finish with a very vibrant and well-balanced acidity.Great persistence and a real terroir character: Chapeau! 18.5
