BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage: right, clear, beginning to turn. Fresh, non-complex nose of damson and cherry, acidity bright though tannins a bit drying, sour-bitter finish of type but no great charm. Drink 2010 for five years. 12.5

Roy Richards Very Mediterranean – Cavaillon melon, strawberries, and black pepper. Very proper, everything it should be, perhaps tannin on the heavy side, but it delivers. 16

Franco Ziliani: Good intensity of color but brilliant. The nose is very open and expressive, with ripe plums and cherries and some creamy black pepper notes, very appealing and Mediterranean. The palate is rich, with a solid construction and bold tannins. Full-bodied, earthy, and mineral on the long, vertical finish. An elegant, appealing wine. 16.5
