Nicolas Belfrage: Deep, a little turn on rim. Some of the typical Brunello funkiness, nose is inviting. Tremendous mouthful of wine chock-full of ripe tannins and with good balancing acidity, long and very serious as well as very sexy. Drink now to 2025. 18

Roy Richards Sweet, Porty, vanilla. This is too much of a tart. No serious interest. Could be a Dugat-Py or a garagiste St-Emilion. 10

Franco Ziliani: Good intensity of color. The nose is overripe with all the notes produced by oak: coffee, chocolate, spices, marmalade. No elegance and freshness at all. The palate is simply without energy and the finish bitter and dry, with astringent oak tannins. Absolutely no balance or appeal. 12.5
