Nicolas Belfrage: Deepish color, not much turn. Cherry fruit dominates nose and palate, tannins are firm but covered, and acidity is adequate if a bit low for long ageing. A crowd pleaser, not perhaps the purest of styles but good balance and length and agreeable to drink. Now for seven years. 14.5

Roy Richards Steamy and high-toned – Brett. Dirty and musty. No great quality. 8

Franco Ziliani: Very dark inky and concentrated color (maybe the famous new Sangiovese clones?) The nose is unclean, Bretty and animal without any idea of freshness and elegance. If you add overripe fruit and oaky notes you are so far from any dream wine... The palate is austere and rustic with aggressive, dry tannins, low acidity. Leaves the impression of a wine without future... 12
