Bruno Besa | Garnet to pink. Intense, ripe, and complex nose, earthy, with crushed stones, animal, tobacco, leather, rosemary, and thyme. full-bodied, layered palate, complex, with ripe prunes and blackberries. Refined and large-scale tannins are well-balanced by the clean, rich fruit and long, lively finish. Another for the cellar. | 93
Andrew Jefford | Clear black-red. A slight reductive confinement to the aromas of this when first smelled, and a slight simplicity of fruit, too; cleanly enticing, nonetheless. Quite simple on the palate, too, though the wine does have some spice complexities. Perhaps with time this wine will open out and lose the aromatic notes that give me pause, and the fruit will find layers of depth and resonance. There is certainly ample concentration and structure to carry it through the years. | 88
Anthony Rose | Bright, youthful ruby hue; a tad shy on the nose, with a hint of anise, but good, bright, medium-weight, cherry-sweet fruit quality on the palate, held in check by a nicely balancing framework of glossy textured fruit, good weight, sinewy tannins and bright, refreshing acidity in an overall attractive, well-balanced package. | 92
