The last time I had this Port was in Seattle in May 2003, when I opened a bottle for Michael Broadbent MW, Richard Mayson, Dirk Niepoort, and other friends. That one was disappointingly corked, and 1908 Ports appear as often as ghosts. Medium pink-orange hue that was beautiful to look at. This Sandeman was spot-on for a 112-year-old VP, with a perfumed floral bouquet, accessorized by opulently spiced scents of black licorice and elaborate wisps of spearmint and nutmeg. Rich, sophisticated layers of ripe raspberry and rhubarb flavors filled out the middle and led to a warm nuanced finish of fine length and depth. | 93
