Tim Atkin: Deep, dense, youthful purple. Oaky, rich, yet harmonious nose. Palate still youthful, but fine tannins, good fruit/acid balance, and silky length. Still young, but should develop further. Impressive length. 17

Alex Hunt: Ripe blackberry fruit with a lovely lifted spearmint/clove edge. Full, chewy style that actually finishes very neatly and cleanly. Tannins are perfectly judged to frame the generous fruit and provide savor. 16.5

Anthony Rose: Sweet, spicy, cinnamon-like aromas, suggesting a touch too much oak and overripe fruit. But while there’s plenty of sweet, blackcurrant fruit and cedary, vanilla-tinged oak, the overall effect is attractively balanced and highly drinkable, even if its slightly dry, chunky finish detracts a tad. Could do with just a little more acidity and freshness. 15
