Nicolas Belfrage: Medium-deep, garnet rim. Low-key but distinctive rose-petal aroma. Archetypal Barolo, with acid, tannin, and fruit all in place; quite forward but could still bring pleasure for years. 17
Bruno Besa: Garnet to light tawny rim. Restrained and refined small-red-fruits nose, with rosewater, cedarwood, and hints of mint. Lively, clean, and elegant palate, long and mineral. 17.5
Andrew Jefford: Deep, clear garnet red. Sweet, warm, velvety, and graceful: a fawn, suddenly, in your kitchen. In other words, the plum and ripe redcurrant fruits are beautifully nuanced by a sweet animal quality or a comforting vellum. On the palate, the wine is slightly more slender and slightly less concentrated and present than the nose led one to believe, but it is very agreeable, satisfying, and long nonetheless; the fruit is perfectly ripe; the tannins are mastered and unaggressive; and the core of fruit holds well through to the finish. Excellent Barolo. 15.5
