SF | Gentle amber color, crepuscular, Turner facing the sea at dusk, a promising evening ahead. The nose marries the floral and the spice, its not inconsiderable extract expertly integrated, the acidity servant rather than master to a structure that will still repay aging and, eventually, assume the earthy, truffly notes of an admired dotage. Impressive now, for all that. From the more subtle school of Colheita, which should not be undervalued. 94
AJ | Very clear and light orange-russet, with scarlet glints. Sweet, warm, and welcoming, with milk-chocolate grace, but there is also a wilder herbal note, too, to lend the wine complexity: lavender and cystus. A super nose, full of hypnotic charm. Vivid yet ample on the palate and very harmonious; packed full of all the flavors you hope for in an older Colheita (apricot and peach skin—mysteriously transmuted from the strawberry and raspberry of the younger wines—mushroom, forest floor, furniture polish, fig...). Complete and commanding, an outstanding wine. It has the shaping, extracty finish of the best, too. 2024–28. 94
RM | Mid-pale tawny-amber, with a green glint on the rim; quite delicate and lifted on the nose, showing a touch of spirit but great finesse; soft and mellow initially on the palate, with a long, linear flavor profile that is quite delicate in style but a touch hollow mid-palate and seems to be just on the verge of drying out on the finish. Very refined in style. 92
