Nicolas Belfrage: Medium-deep, little turn. Typical nose of cherry and herb. Well-stated fruit on the palate, with tannins slightly gritty and acidity adequate. Still developing; could turn out to be a fine bottle but a little shrouded at the moment. Drink from 2018. 89
Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to tawny rim. Overripe, decadent nose, with black fruits and smoked red meat. Full body and generous palate. A touch rustic on the finish. Not very classy but generous and clean. 88
Andrew Jefford: Deep, dark black-red in color. Sweet, warm, and plummy; Brunello in a Pomerol mood. There are also some tobacco complexities afterward, too. On the palate, there’s lots of concentrated, ripe flavor to enjoy. It is perhaps not the most classical wine on the table; there are flavors of tomato here, as well as very sweet plum. But it’s exciting, energetic, engaging, and well structured: unquestionably worth a look. 86
