Simon Field: Tawny colouring, nose foursquare, solid, barrels, nuts, and time all playing their part. Palate has a Cognac richness, the authority of experience, the power to banish care and minor technical observations. The most extraordinary finish, which has lasted all the way through the composition of this labored note and will, thankfully, outlast it by some distance. 17

Richard Mayson: Mid amber-orange. Quite pungent candied-peel aromas with a hint of stewed fruit. Marmalade character, smooth with just the right amount of richness, and a spicy astringency on the finish. Expressive and well made. 16.5

Margaret Rand: Cheesy, fishy nose, quite powerful. Punchy palate, muscular and well honed. Smoke, nuts, smoked fish, very characterful. Big, bold wine with a good finish. Sweet and assertive. 16.5
