Simon Field | Lively plush; compote and spice; a forward, engaging style. Sappy, soapy, lively and forward. I think this will grow with time, but without a fundamental change of shape. Attractive today and, therefore, attractive tomorrow. | 89
Andrew Jefford | Dark, dense opaque black core to a purple rim. Sweet spices and hillside herbs over dark blackcurrant fruit with a resin-like edge: brooding and promising. It’s very good in the mouth, too: a frontal trough of rich, warm fruits (raspberry and strawberry as much as blackcurrant and sloe), with lots of drive and glow and energy to it. Just not quite as multidimensioned as the very best, but not far off, either. | 91
Richard Mayson | Dense, sullen, with underlying ripeness on the nose. Big sweet spicy fruit, with bittersweet dark-chocolate intensity and a lovely firm, berry fruit finish, with minty ripeness. | 90
