Simon Field | Near raven black, uncompromising and unforgiving. Nose of myrtle, plum, and dark chocolate. Heady, rich; pecans and figs, a deep resonant pool of expectation, long and resourceful, heady and powerful. Hard to assess at the moment. | 90
Andrew Jefford | Dense, dark black-red, purple-shot for now. Gruff but excitingly spicy, ripe aromas over very sweetly plummy fruits. Livelier and a little fresher than many of its peers; the sweetness of the vintage is held in check a little here in this round, deep, searching and excitingly extractive Port. Aromatically it is not multidimensioned, but there are some tea-leaf fragrances to balance out the delicious and extravagant fruit sweetness. Excellent tannin profile, too. | 91
Richard Mayson | Deep, dense and spicy on the nose, with more to give. Firm yet broad, tight-knit, and well defined; a good tannic core and focus, not especially fleshy, with a long, firm, but slightly green sinewy finish. | 90
