Stephen Brook | Very delicate on the nose, with sour cherry aromas and a touch of mint. Medium-bodied and rather slight for Brunello. The texture is silky and it’s bright and even perky, but there’s little depth of flavor or weight of fruit. Attractive, but more like a Rosso. Moderate length, and a lightly tannic finish. | 85

Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red. Sweet, juicy red fruits with almost a citrus note to them; some forest herbs, too. Attractive and welcoming. Lush, full, multilayered, with ample riper black fruits (plum, cherry, some dessert apple) balanced by emphatic acidity and firm tannins. Almost a salty wealth here: a very good wine full of gratification and stimulation alike. Give it a year or two more if you can. | 91

Michael Palij | Pronounced nose of baking spice, black fruit, black berry, damson, allspice, vanilla, cedar, and charred vegetables. In the mouth, the high levels of alcohol and tannin mask the more subtle Sangiovese notes, rendering this fat and impressive but lacking the textural detail that hallmark great Brunello. | 92
