BUY THE WINE

Bruno Besa | Deep garnet to pink. Generous and mature red-cherry and currants nose, with some minerals and blood oranges. Mature palate, with clean fruit yet a touch simple on the finish. | 90

Andrew Jefford | Clear yet deeper than many of its peers, with little russet as yet. Sweet and warm, yet relatively unfocused; a soft red-fruit core ticks gently from the glass. On the palate, it is deep, firm, generous, and long; satisfying, without surrendering a wealth of allusions. A very good reading of the vintage, if unshowy and unspectacular. | 87

Michael Palij | Deep color, pronounced nose, obvious oak, jammy fruit, this seems to have it all but the whole is not necessarily greater than the sum of its parts. The finish is unconvincing, dominated, as it is, by aggressive tannins and the fruit seems to have gone into hiding in the face of such a grippy onslaught. Not much pleasure here despite the early promise. | 87
