Nicolas Belfrage: Aromas are a mix of fruit and oak. Attack is forceful, the wine opens out in the mouth and channels into a point where firm acids meet somewhat grainy tannins to hold the fruit at some length. Bittersweet hit at the back. Good Brunello, drink from 2018 for several years. 91
Bruno Besa: Garnet to tawny. Elegant, spicy, mature red character with peaches, oriental spices, apricot jam, and mineral undertones. Round, mature palate with refined tannins. Fairly long yet a touch overripe on the finish. 92
Andrew Jefford: Clear, light and limpid. Very graceful, sweet and stealthy, light and aerial: lots of quietly insinuating charm. Creamy cherry, but just a hint of bubbling jam, too. Graceful, generous, and sweet, as the nose suggested this is a kind of chiffon-fruited Brunello, very ripe but floaty, easy of access but with much to satisfy—and there are generous fine-grained tannins, too, to provide some ballast and endurance. Excellent work in crafting a wine that won’t be forbidding in youth but that will last well, and that combines the grace of classicism with the generosity and sweet charm of the vintage. Extreme classicists may find it just a little bit sweet... 91
