Nicolas Belfrage: Medium depth with definite turn. Funky nose and typical decadent vegetal aromas of aged Sangiovese. Warm and concentrated, but balanced, very typical. Drink now to 2020. 16

Roy Richards Animal, soot. Could be interesting – fresh black fruit? Surges out of the glass. This is proper Brunello, even of there is some dilution in mid-palate. Pretty good. I would be happy drinking this. 15

Franco Ziliani: Brilliant ruby-violet color. Nose of good complexity, with fruity, flowery, earthy, mineral and feral notes. Fresh on the palate, solid tannins, good structure, a balanced fresh acidity and an interesting, persistent, long, savory finish. Maybe still young, with some astringency, but a good ageing potential. 15.5
