Nicolas Belfrage: Medium-deep; slightly scented nose. Round and drinkable, with good acidity and correct tannins but nothing special in terms of flavor. Well made and drinking soon but not exciting. 14

Stephen Brook: Lush black-cherry nose, with lift and spice. Rich, broad, and sumptuous, with good depth of fruit and a certain solidity derived from its firm tannins. Not heavy-handed but certainly structured and balanced. It may not be nuanced, but it has complexity and verve and should develop well. Very good length. 18

Andrew Jefford: Deep garnet red with some bricking. A little disappointing here: lots of red-fruit force, yet slightly sweaty in style, without any aromatic refinement. Warm, deep, intense, satisfying. The simplicity of the aromatic profile is still evident here, yet the intensity of site and vintage slightly redeems matters. Not a bad wine if attractively priced. 12
