Nicolas Belfrage | Attractive mid-depth color, with pronounced garnet on rim. Floral-and-herb nose, field flowers. Immediate gratifi cation on entry, with sweet cherry fruit spreading to all corners. Tannins are ripe and acids are firm but covered by sweet cherry fruit, almost jammy but with a positive bitter twist. Lovely to drink now but will last. | 93
Bruno Besa | Light garnet to orange. Open, intense, complex, spicy, and layered small red and black fruits, tobacco-and-cedar nose with dried flowers. Medium to full body, tobacco, cedar, and prune- infused palate, with complex, inviting finish. Classic Brunello at its best. | 94
Andrew Jefford | Clear, limpid red-black with a little bricking already. Refined, creamy scents: teased redcurrant, with shy bay and Havana. An admirable aromatic profile for the vintage. On the palate, this is concentrated and classy, beautifully structured and ripened, deftly arranged and tapered, and packed with choice but mature, deftly aged cherry, plum, and currant. It won’t be the greatest Brunello of its decade, but it’s a fine and supremely drinkable effort for this vintage. | 92
