Bruno Besa | Garnet to tawny. Open and refined, elegant and complex, with red fruits, hints of leather, rosewater, fresh herbs, and hints of flint and crushed stones. Medium body, balanced, fairly long, cedar-wood finish. | 92
Stephen Brook | Piquant nose, cranberries, redcurrants, at the leaner end of the ripeness spectrum. Light and fresh for Barolo, with a welcome perkiness, but there are still sufficient tannins to mark this as Barolo. I don’t find much nuance or complexity, and the overall impression is one-dimensional. Quite long, but it lacks finesse, and the finish is dry. | 85
Andrew Jefford | Clear, transparent red-black. Slightly sinewy fruits on the nose; black and green pepper, too. A little dry and green on the palate, though very concentrated and with ample, indeed almost daunting, tannic richness. An enjoyable wine I’d love to drink and that I find in many ways very impressive, though not one of the most subtle or uniformly ripe. | 89
