Andrew Jefford: Pale gold. Zingy fruits, with a very ripe, almost tropical style to them and brought together in a kind of creamy fullness. Soft, full, embracing yet pure, not muddled. Despite the evident ripeness, there is a real line of beauty discernible here, a kind of wandering string-like fruit core that draws the drinker on towards the subtly composed, elegant finish. Delicious. 16.5
Simon Larkin : Fairly deep appearance. Exotic fruits on the nose - a suggestion of serious ripeness! Very tangy, exotic qualities on the palate, papaya again. Pleasing dry minerality also, like ground stone. Some in-built austerity, though a good am plitude of fruit and a more than pleasing balance struck. Persistent if slightly warm finish. 15.5
Alexander Scott: More character on the nose than the Hans Lang Hattenheim Wisselbrunnen, and a clear creamy aspect. More natural and less aggressive on the palate, though still there’s a suggestion of some residual sugar. Many of these wines are clearly pretty alcoholic. Decent finish. There’s some competent winemaking here, if perhaps at the expense of personality. 15
