Nicolas Belfrage: Very slight turn on the rim. Somewhat reticent on the nose, perhaps “ripe plum” best describes it. But very sure of itself on the finish, with chunky tannins—a little astringent for now, though they should stand it in good stead for the future. A bit too tough now but should be good from 2019. 94

Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to pink, tawny. Closed, smoky, meaty nose with prunes and morello cherries. Full body with big yet refined tannins, sweet red and black fruit, and a long, clean, firm finish. A great effort with great aging potential. 94

Andrew Jefford: Deep, clear black-red. This is a warm aromatic profile, with a little raisin and cereal grain. A little bit raisiny and overripe to me, and that very ripe fruit is slightly ill-assorted with the firm tannins. Nonetheless, in the global context this is still serious and rewarding red wine; it only slips back a little against the best of its peer group. 82
