BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage: Deep, almost opaque ruby, with beginnings of garnet on the rim. Ripe cherry and plum aromas, good persistence. Full, rich, and quite developed, with slightly gritty tannins and highish-octane finish. Ready soon; drink from 2015. 15.5

Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to pink rim. Broad, mature, and chocolaty nose, with dried prunes and intense mineral notes. Touch-green tannins, with moderate length. 14.5

Andrew Jefford: Deep black-red. Resonant and forthcoming, but the fruit definition isn’t pristine; there is a slightly grubby note in here, behind the sweet dark fruit and forest underbrush. Deep, searching, vivacious, and concentrated, this is an impressive, masterful wine, with a slight aromatic blemish, I suspect from wooden aging vessels. A shame, because the wine is very promising otherwise. A compromise score, thus. 13
