BUY THE WINE

Bruno Besa | Garnet to pink. Closed, earthy, smoked, meaty nose, with black cherries, road tar, rosemary, and crushed stones. Medium body, clean, firm morello-cherry palate. Fairly long and clean. | 91

Andrew Jefford | Deep, dark, clear garnet-red. Dry currants and cream, plum and cherry; refined and gently enticing. Fresh and poised aromas. Vivid, graceful, and well-rounded on the palate. Spotlessly clean, and with deft, finely milled tannins. The vintage is there in the brisk fruit style, but this wine has nothing unripe or even underripe; the little touch of bitterness on the finish would be there in a warmer vintage, too. Thoroughly enjoyable 2014 Brunello. | 90

Michael Palij | The nose is obvious but stewed, with baked plum, fig, and bay leaf. The VA is evident on both nose and palate, and this robs the wine of what generosity may have originally been extant. It’s beginning an exceptionally short window of drinkability. | 79
