Nicolas Belfrage: Very deep color with little turn. Attractive cherry-berry fruit nose. Plenty of fruit but not particularly typical of Sangiovese, palate a bit lax and finish a bit weak. Made to international specifications, made well, but lacks the funkiness of the genre. Drink now for five years. 13

Franco Ziliani: Very elegant, brilliant Sangiovese color. The nose is rich, complex, with some finesse and elegance: black cherries and dried plums, earthy, wild, mineral notes, aromatic herbs, leather, licorice for a good intensity. Very soft, velvety tannins, ripe but not overripe fruit, good freshness, large, intense, persistent, with a charming long finish on earthy notes. Good ageing potential and a real Sangiovese of Montalcino character! 18
