Tim Atkin: deep garnet red. Perfumed, aromatic, almost Pinot-like, with notes of forest floor and sweetness and balance. Sweet, but quite austere at the same time, with marked tannins and acidity. Palate finishes dry and tannic and thin. Tails away. 12

Nicolas Belfrage: Medium depth; correct. Attractive perfumed nose of finesse and breed, but not the elegance on the palate of the [Pian Dell’orino]. A good acid/fruit balance but a touch short, a touch bitter. Very correct: good effort, but not top. 16

Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to orange rim. Mature, a touch jammy on the nose, fairly intense but not very complex. Full body, a touch astringent, yet clean and fairly long. 15
