Nicolas Belfrage: Medium depth, some turn. Fairly quiet on the nose, but it develops in the direction of flower rather than fruit. Attractive, early-drinking fruit showing off the friendly side of the vintage, and medium length. Drink from 2017. 92
Bruno Besa: Garnet to light tawny rim. Restrained, a touch closed on the nose yet elegant and mineral, with rose water, wild strawberries, and dried herbs. Medium body, clean and inviting, with a great mid-palate and long, defined finish. A great effort, complex and refined. 90
Andrew Jefford: Clear, deep red. Relatively restrained aromatic profile of reeds and thatch. Quiet but intriguing. On the palate, too, this is a quiet, introverted, devotional kind of Brunello, but don’t be dissuaded by that; there’s lots of classical purity and flavory illumination to savor. Lovely ripeness, smoothness, softness, gentleness, and finishing class. 87
