Stephen Brook | The nose is sprightly and delicate with lifted red-fruit aromas. Sleek and polished, this is still lively and fresh, with the acidity giving intensity and drive. Although not very nuanced or layered now, it should open up once it sheds its youthful tightness. The balance seems fine, even though the finish is a shade limp. Quite long. | 91
Andrew Jefford | Deep, dark, clear garnet red. This is relatively warm fruit, with just a hint of raisiny sweetness or confit cherry sweetness to it, but the overall aromatic shape is very appealing, with refined wax and incense notes, as well as beguiling underbrush scents. Complete and well handled on the palate, too, this is sweeter than most, though the sweetness is all fruit and owes nothing to the cellar work, which has added grain, depth, and texture. As on the nose, this is a very complete wine of untroubled sensual appeal. The tannins are beautifully ripe, and there is vivid, ripe acidity, too. | 90
Michael Palij | Fresh, clean, attractive aromas of red fruit, including cherry, plum, bramble, and currant. The oak is integrated and adds a layer of spicy, sophisticated complexity. In the mouth, this is long and shows a confident intensity of fruit that runs alongside the oak. In the end, the oak tends to take over, but it is a solid glass of wine. | 92
