Bruno Besa | Deep ruby to garnet. Open, ripe, complex, warm, spicy, black-fruit nose, with an intense earthy character. Full-bodied, layered palate, with sweet cherry and prune fruit and a long, ripe finish. Generous Brunello for mid-term aging. | 91
Andrew Jefford | Deep, clear black-red. Warm, rounded, lifted, refined, with ample secondary complexities already; not a huge wealth or sense of much in reserve, but forthcoming and enticing. Rounded, full, and ample on the palate, with plenty of wealth and depth: very generous and hugely enjoyable. It doesn’t quite have the aromatic finesse of the very best, but there is much to enjoy and savor here. A very faint aromatic murkiness holds my score back a little. | 88
Anthony Rose | Medium-ruby hue; an undifferentiated nose, a tad sausagey, savory. While the fruit is traditional in style, with structural tannins and freshness of acidity to the fore, the oak is well judged because you don’t feel it other than in the texture itself. Quite pure, ascetic, traditional. | 92
