BUY THE WINE

Bruno Besa | Garnet to tawny. A touch closed yet restrained, complex and elegant nose. Small red fruits, roses, sweet oak, with leather, tobacco leaf, and crushed stones. Medium body, a touch simple on the palate, with a slightly unripe finish. | 88

Andrew Jefford | Clear, translucent black-red. Sweet, evident black cherry; rather simple. A sherbety note, too. Lacks subtlety and refinement alongside the best. On the palate, it is a better wine than the aromas suggested, with impressive tannic wealth, ample ripeness, and plenty of density and architecture of fruit. With better aromatic refinement, it would in fact merit a high score; there is plenty to enjoy in this satisfactorily constituted wine. That lack of grace and charm just lets it down a little. | 88

Michael Palij | The nose shows a hint of oxidation that does not bode well. The fruit is very developed, showing tertiary character and maderized notes that suggest the grapes were harvested late and may lack the requisite acidity. This is a disappointingly simple wine, without either the either structure or concentration of fruit to warrant further aging. | 79
