Nicolas Belfrage: Deepish, not opaque. Blackberry and raspberry on the nose. Concentrated, brambly fruit with quite a dollop of sweet, slightly jammy fruit on the finish marks this out as a 2011. Attractive now but how far has it to go? Drink from 2017. 89
Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to tawny. A touch mature on the nose, with prunes, forest earth, and smoked red meat. Mature, rich, full bodied, and clean. A touch rustic yet clean and honest. 88
Andrew Jefford: Deep but clear black-red. Warm, full, gruff, dark scents of copse and earth, mushrooms and ham, with red fruits behind: complex and enticing. On the palate, this is a refined, urbane Brunello of ample classicism and poise. The aromatic complexities are there on the palate, but it is also a calm wine of great harmony, so they are smoothly sublimated—so smoothly, indeed, that it would be easy to underestimate this fine effort. 90
