Nicolas Belfrage: Quite deep with a little turn. Small berry fruits and a hint of oak on the nose. Surprisingly intense blackberry fruit on the palate, almost jammy but saved by a firm tannic backdrop plus acidity that just manages to bring it into balance. With its sweetness and fruitiness it stands as a wine typical of the vintage. 88
Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to tawny. Mature, a touch overripe, black-fruit nose, yet clean and fairly complex. Full body, clean but a touch simple on the finish. 86
Andrew Jefford: Dense, deep black-red. A slightly confused aromatic profile: a paste of sweet fruits, some compost and silage, but more attractive than these allusions may make it sound. Dense and ambitious, one would say, but in need of a little more cellar calming. On the palate, it does indeed prove dense and ambitious, with very fine tannins and lots of concentrated, driving fruit (plums, sloes, menthol). A richly concentrated and exciting wine that needs longer and will almost certainly then merit a higher score. 87
