Simon Field: Rich, spicy nose. The palate has a grapey, you thful character, tannins that are present and correct, and plenty of spirit! Matiere and length - a wine with the imprimatur of the vintage: unsubtle in the extreme, and slightly hot of head, but with the framework to mature over time. 17
Richard Mayson: Smells baked; touch of coffee bean and chocolate. Some attractive spicy fruit on the palate, with firm but rather lean tannins on the finish, where it falls away. 13.5
Jancis Robinson: Dark purplish crimson. Sweet treacle toffees on the front palate then crip pling ly severe tannins - the fruit just doesn’t stand a chance! Overextracted is what I would call a table wine like this. 10
