SF | Amber, russet at the edge, but a deeper, more eloquent brick-brown thereafter. A mellow, slightly torrefied mid-palate, easy-going, with hints of honey-cake (Bolo de mel!) and white chocolate. Volatile, but constructively so, with a very distinguished acidic backdrop and plenty of matière to keep it going without sacrificing peace of mind to an overindulgent sweetness. 90
AJ | Bright, pale, glinting, shot through with sunset hues: very pretty in the glass. Lifted and refined aromatically, very pure and graceful, with subtle fruits, oxidative notes, woodland complexities, and chocolate charm all featuring. A terrific aromatic profile here. Dramatic and concentrated on the palate, with remarkable intensity and force. Very complex in flavor terms: strawberry and pomegranate, crystalized plum and vanilla, meat consomme and dried mushroom. A commanding wine, and an absolute treat to drink. Acids and extracts shape the wine and help it maximize its expressive force. 2024–30. 95
RM | Lovely mid-tawny amber hues; already slightly lifted and quite delicate on the nose, with a hint of caramelized fruit and spirit redolent of Cognac; supremely smooth and suave, with gorgeous milk-chocolate depth and great freshness and finesse, leading to a long, lithe, linear finish that is just starting to dry out. 92
