Richard Mayson: Warm, ripe aromas and flavours, mid-weight, very sweet and lacking a little in structure. Begin to drink in 10 years. 12
Simon Field: Spicy, almost resinous nose; on the palate, layers of firmly textured fruit, very firm tannins, a slight alcoholic burn and a power on the finish, which is, at the moment, slightly overpowering. 16
Jancis Robinson: Purplish crimson. Light, sprightly, lively nose. Some green, leafy notes. Even a little hint of fishiness! Grainy texture. Good try, but very jagged and awkward, with the alcohol worryingly prom inent. Not that much sweetness or tannin. 13
