Jesús Barquín: Slightly less deep cherry than average in the tasting. Overripe fruit in the nose, hints of vanilla. The palate is still slightly drying, having a tough time trying to balance the fruit load and the powerful tannin of a wine that is obviously too young. 14.5
Alex Hunt: Very tired, oxidative nose of raisined fruit. On the palate, the fruit has browned and exposed some rather chunky tannin. Little lift or refreshment value here. 12
Andrew Jefford: Dark black-red in color. A sweeter, creamier scent than many of its peer group, with the fruit not the typical sloe/damson spectrum but ripe red and black cherry. One might almost suspect a little American oak in the mix, though the sweetness is vanillic rather than coconutty. Anyway, a scent of easy come-hither appeal. The palate is straightforward, cleanly made, and well proportioned, with modest concentration and satisfactory tannic thickening toward the end. Not notably mineral or wild. 14.5
